Mr. John Allen Reeves, age 89, of Gassville, passed away January 4, 2009 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House. Visitation will be from Noon until 2 PM Thursday, Jan. 9 at Roller Funeral Home. A Funeral, conducted by Brother Travis Alexander will follow at 2 PM .
Burial, with military honors will follow at Baxter Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Reeves was born Sept. 28, 1919 in Cotter Arkansas. He married Dorothy Louise "Scottie" Scott in 1946 in Wichita, Kansas. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was among the first to storm the beaches in Normandy at Omaha Beach resulting in being wounded with a bullet passing through his throat. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and the Order of the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster. He was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Dorothy "Scottie" Scott of Gassville; a daughter, Marsha Lynn ( Robert ) Danna of Dolan Springs, Arizona; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.

He was my Uncle.
