Ruth H. METZ, 86, of Orchard Crossing, Tyrone, R.D. 4, died at 9:20 a.m.
Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at Tyrone Hospital. She was born Dec. 31, 1915,
in Spruce Creek Twp., Huntingdon County, the daughter of the late George
and Harriet (Sunday) Bell. She married Boyd D. Metz Nov. 23, 1935, in
Hagerstown, Md. He preceded her in death March 27, 1988. She is survived
by a son, Boyd D. Metz Jr. of Spring Hill, Kan. One sister, Mrs. John
(Laura) Weamer of Altoona, and two brothers, Robert Bell of Tyrone, R.D.
1, and George Bell of Woodbury, N.J. survive. Mrs. Metz was a member of
the Lower Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the
order of Eastern Star No. 288 and was a graduate of Alexandria High
School, Class of 1933. She particularly enjoyed church and eastern Star
activities. Funeral services will be held at Spruce Creek Presbyterian
Church with the Rev. Barry Vance Officiating. Interment will be made at
the convenience of the family in Franklinville Cemetery.
