Son of Olive Jennings and James W. Bloxton. He married Bertha McLean about 1925 and they had one known son, John W Bloxton II (1933-1972). Willard honorably served in the U.S. Army during WWII and returned to Greensboro for a short period before moving to Raleigh and serving in several different government capacities. He served a number of years as an Assistant to the Adjudant General of North Carolina.
