Weatherford – Elmer W. "Dusty" Rhodes, 83, a retired master diesel mechanic, died Monday, Aug. 31, 1998, at a Weatherford nursing home.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Martin's Funeral Home. Burial: Holly Hills Memorial Park in Granbury. Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Elmer W. "Dusty" Rhodes was born Sept. 3, 1914, in Redfield, Arkansas. He had resided in Weatherford since 1991 and previous lived in Granbury in the Lake Granbury Harbor area. He was a master plumber and master diesel mechanic, having worked for the Tarrant County Water Board.

Mr. Rhodes was a member of Life Fellowship Church in Fort Worth and the operating Engineers Union.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Doris Marie Howell and Jackie Corina Rhodes.

Survivors: Daughters, Ann McDaniel, Katherine Bernice Sanders and Theda Faye Raley; brother, Erbert Ray Rhodes; sister, Gladys Brock; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
