She was born August 30th 1896 in Wilson Lane, Utah, the daughter of William H. Adams and Wilhelmina Reed Watson. She was 94 at the time of her death. She had lived for the last 40 years in South Ogden.
She married John Raymond Salmond, April 2. 1924, in the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death in May of 1982. They were the parents of four children, J. Lowell Salmond of Bountiful, Dr. Robert A. Salmond of Ogden, Mary Beth (Salmond) Edwards of Alpine, and Kent A. Salmond of Los Gatos, California. She had 34 grandchildren and 93 great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two brothers, John R. Adams (Jack) of Plain City, Utah; Alfred W. Adams of Ogden, Utah; and two sisters. Dorothy Beede and Eva Youngberg of Ogden. Utah.
She began working at the age of 16 as a secretary for Crane Company in Ogden. Utah and worked there until 1924. She was a substitute rural mail carrier, cared for several foster children through the years and in 1950 worked full time at Hill Air Force Base as a procurement clerk. She retired in 1962.
She was a past President of the Ogden City PTA, and the Utah Representative to the National PTA. She was also an active and honorary member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a member of the Ogden 38th Ward and financially supported many missionaries. She served on several Stake Boards, as well as being President of the Relief Society and Young Women's Association, in several different wards. She is best remembered for her great teaching ability.
Funeral services were held Thursday at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
She will be interred at Aultorest Memorial Park.
