Bobby Dean Chastain, son of Earl Thomas and Ethel Coffey Chastain, was born November 16, 1937, in Comanche, Oklahoma, and departed this life December 20, 2008, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-one years.

Bobby made a profession of faith in Christ and at the time of his death was an active and faithful member of First Assembly of God Church. He was very close with his church family and had a special bond with two children, Tony and Andrew Sherrer. The relationship he had with each member was one he treasured dearly.

He was united in marriage with Beverly Kays and to this union was born two sons. He and Beverly had a loving relationship and appreciated every moment they spent together.

Bobby attended school in Lebanon, where he remained and began working at Roger's Lumber Company as long as his health allowed.

His favorite past time was collecting antique toy cars and trucks. However, nothing compared to the time he spent with his family and the dedication he had to children. His friends and family will forever remember how he adored them.

Bobby is survived by his wife Beverly; one son, Rev. Robert Chastain and his wife Debra of Campbell, MO; several nieces and nephews; church family; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Bryan Dean Chastain, three brothers, Elmer Ray Chastain, James Chastain and Tommy Franklin Chastain, who died in infancy, and two sisters, Dottie Johnson and Glenna Reeves.

Bobby was a lover of life, with the ability to make everyone around him feel like part of his family. His kind spirit and gentle heart was a trait desired by so many and attained by so few. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him will remember those traits always.

MY FIRST CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN........

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away the tear
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can't compare
with the Christmas choir up here.
I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring,
For it is beyond decription, to hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart
But I am not so far away, we really aren't apart.
So be happy for me, dear ones, you know I hold you dear.
And be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I send you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above.
I sent you each a memory of my undying love.
After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do
For I can't count the blessing or love he has for each of you
So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear
Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
