William (Gus) Schreckengost, 74, died at 2:05 a.m. today (May 22, 1961) in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for two days. Mr. Schreckengost, retired for two years, had been an employee of the State School Authority. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Kittanning and a member of the MORA Club of the county YMCA. Born April 5, 1887, in Armstrong County, Mr. Schreckengost was the son of Abraham and Melissa (Hawk) Schreckengost. He spent most of his life in this vicinity. Survivor are his wife, Margaret Wyant Schreckengost; two sons, Donald of Waymart and Robert O. of McGrann; five granddaughters: three sisters, Mrs. Naomi Rupp of Kittanning RD 1, Mrs. Elsie Wagner of Worthington and Mrs. Crissie Moore of Kittanning RD 5. Friends will be received at the Bauer funeral home. Family visitation hours are 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Rev. David Thomson and Rev Robert DeLano will officiate at services at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Kittanning cemetery.

Funeral services for William (Gus) Schreckengost of McGrann, who died Monday, were held Wednesday (May 24, 1961) at Bauer funeral home. Services were conducted by Rev. David Thomson and Rev. Robert DeLano. Pal bearers were Richard Wales, Walter Flemm, George Phillips, Charles Beatty, Worth Ellenberger and Perry Hampton. Interment took place in Kittanning Cemetery.
