HOWELL, Ora CAVNESS – {from Lowell} Death has visited a number of homes in our hearing recently. Nearly every day we hear of some one dying. Death is no respecter of person. The young may die and the old must. The three new made graves recently in Goad Springs cemetery is evidence of the fact. The last was the burial of Mrs. Lum Howell, nee Ora Cavness, who died at her home in Wyoming of congestion of the stomach. Her body was brought here and buried Christmas day. This was her old home and the many friends extend condolence to the bereft family.[The Springdale News - Springdale, Benton County, Arkansas - December 30, 1910]

Obituary: PARK COUNTY ENTERPRISE- No.35, December 21, 1910, Cody, Park County, Wyoming

"OBITUARY

Mrs. Ora R. Howell was born in Lowell, Arkansas in 1872 and died at Cody, Wyoming, Saturday, Dec. 17th, 1920 at the age of 38 years, 1 month and 12 days. The visit of the angel of death was not unexpected though Mrs. Howell retained consciousness till the very last. Her last words were addressed to Mrs. L.R. Howell, Mr. Howell's mother, who had remained faithfully with her through the final trials of this life.

Mrs. Howell, nee Cavanaugh, spent her childhood in the place of her birth. Here it was that she grew up and blossomed into womanhood and here, too, it was that she married A.C. Howell on the 24th day of December, 1895. Shortly thereafter Mr. and Mrs. Howell moved to Missouri and thence here where the last eight years Mrs. Howell by her gentleness and subdued kindness made many friends who are truly loth to see the Creator take her unto Himself just at the prime of her life.

Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Howell during the fifteen years on the marriage, the youngest being yet an infant. Through the kindness of Mrs. L.R. Howell and George Howell the children are being looked after during Mr. Howell's absence. Beside the children and husband Mrs. Howell leaves behind in this world a father, one sister and one brother.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Methodist church, with which Mrs. Howell had affliated herself while here, after which Mr. Howell accompanied the body to the old home at Lowell, Arkansas where according to her own wishes, she will be laid to rest beside her mother.
