He was the husband of Mary (Stanley?)Field, who died about 1670. I have yet to find positive proof that her maiden name was Stanley or that she was a daughter of Christopher and Susanna Stanley. Older resources do mention this as a possibility. However, more recent research on immigrant Christopher Stanley suggests he had no children.

He has been described as the son of John Felde Jr of East Ardsley, Yorkshire, England, and grandson of John Field the Astronomer of the same place. This is mentioned on the monument. However, New England Historical and Genealogical Register, vol. 22 (1868), p.166ff appears to refute any connection of Zechariah Field to John Felde the Astronomer, specifically in a paragraph on pg 170.

Children: Mary Field Carter, Zechariah Field Jr(first husband of Sarah Webb Price), John Field, Samuel Field, and Joseph Field.

Gravesite Details

This is clearly a cenotaph. It is possible that the two small stones either side of the Zechariah Field Monument are of Zechariah and his wife Mary, but they are difficult to read and do not seem to be of the correct style or age.
