Daughter of Jefferson Leftreg Wheeler and his first wife Rebecca Elliott Wheeler. She was the first person buried in the Wheeler Cemetery. After her burial, her parents donated the land for a community cemetery. Her mother is incorrectly listed on the historical marker and on her grave marker. She is listed in the 1870 Trinity County Census with her parents Jefferson 39 and Rebecca 36. Her soon-to-be stepmother lives with her family beside the Wheeler family and is only 15 at the time Vinney is 7.
