Funeral services for James E. Newnham, 75, who came to Klamath County in 1905, will be held from O'Hair's Memorial Chapel, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 2nd. Final rites and interment will be in Klamath Memorial Park. The Rev. Lloyd Henderson, pastor of the Merrill Presbyterian Church will officiate.
Active pallbearers will be Charles Dixon, Marshall McClay, Harold Campbell, Tyalor High, Bob Williams, and John Fisher. Honorary will be Marion Barnes, O.L. Brown, Bill Cunningham, A.R. Campbell, Rex High and King Hubble.
Mr. Newnham, a native of Fall River, Wisconsin, and an employee of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation helped survey and build the ditches on the Klamath Reclamation project. He was employed with the USBR until 1919 when he bought a ranch in the Pine Grove District, still farmed by a son. He left Klamath County in 1945 to make his home on the coast and returned here two months ago during his last illness.
Survivors include his widow, Florence of Otis; three sons, Pavitt Newnham of Merrill, Jim of Early Mart, Calif., Dale of Pine Grove, and eight grandchildren.
