Our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and special friend Josephine B. Harris, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2009 at her home.

Josephine was born on September 26, 1908 in Pine Valley, Utah to Robert Albert Berry and Tillie Gardner Berry. Educated in Logan, Utah she graduated from Logan High School and thereafter attended Brigham Young University and Utah State University. Josephine worked for Jessie Evans Smith in the County Recorder's Office.

She married Dean Woolley; later divorced. She married Alva R. Harris on May 13, 1938; later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple and remained married for thirty years. They were partners in the Al Harris Dairy which they operated for numerous years.

Josephine was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in which she held many callings. Her life was dedicated to serving her family and others. She was also a member of the Centenarian Club. Over the years she has been known as "grandma" throughout the neighborhood, earning herself the nickname "cookie grandma" and proudly served that role. She met every day with courage and optimism and taught her family to be kind and generous. She did everything from mending and sewing to fixing broken lamps. But what she was most known for was her amazing gift in the kitchen.

She is survived by her loving daughter Marie, three grand daughters, Linda (Gene) Leigh, Lisa (Doug) Hatton-Ward, and Lora (Creed) Barker, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her sister, Berta, her parents, grandparents, and step-children.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday January 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Holladay 1st Ward Chapel (2605 East 4675 South) Holladay, Utah.
Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park (3401 South Highland Drive).
