George Baker, age 76, life-long resident of Franklin county and son of one of the county's oldest families, died late Monday night following declined health for the past several years. Funeral services were celebrated at the home Tuesday at 2:30 by Rev. A.C. Smith, Presbyterian pastor. Burial was in the Gar Creek Cemetery, near his former home, with arrangements in charge of J T Greer and son Funeral Home. Mr. Baker was born at the "Baker home place" five miles northeast of Ozark on the Fairview road March 19, 1860. He spent his entire life in this section, having lived the last fewe years in Ozark at the home of his daughter. He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Sarah Cargile. a member of another pioneer family; four daughters, Mrs. Charlie Smith of Fort Smith, Mrs. Harve Baker of Okemah, Okla., Mrs. Georgia Atkins and Miss. Grace Baker of the home address, and two sons, John Baker of Ratcliff and Don Baker of Ozark. There are 16 grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
