Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Calvert Funeral Home, Maroa, with Rev. Margaret McCullum officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday with 8 p.m. Masonic services. Burial will be in Maroa Cemetery.
Mr. Braden was born in Macon County on January 29, 1916, the son of Derrick and Bertha (Ferree) Braden. He was a 1934 graduate of Maroa-Forsyth High School. He was a self-employed truck driver, farmer and owner of Braden & Son Trucking in Maroa. He was a school bus driver and a seed salesman. He was a member of ASCS Board for over 20 years, a 4-H leader, a Maroa volunteer fireman and a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of Maroa-Forsyth Scool Board, National Association of Small Trucking Co., Maroa American Legion, a 50-year member of Maroa Lodge 454 AF & AM, Midwest Truckers Association and Maroa Christian Church. He married Dorothy L. McGuire on June 26, 1937 in Maroa, IL.
Surviving are his wife; sons and wives, Steve (Maria) Braden of Maroa; Ron (Terri) Braden of Maroa; and David (Rita) Warner of Germantown, TN.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Lyle (Dorothy) Cisco of Maroa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
