She was born at Temple, Texas, to Mary and James Boline. Her parents died when she was a child and she subsequently lived with her grandparents, the Crouches.
In May 1932, Mrs. Beene graduated from Temple High School and then went to junior college. She thereafter taught elementary school at Rio Hondo, Texas. In September 1935, she married Forrest Eugene Beene. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad in Dunsmuir and later transferred to Klamath Falls. He died in an automobile accident in 1968.
Mrs. Beene worked at a variety of jobs, but spent much of her time as a homemaker. She was active in the Mill School PTA, the cub Scouts and as the hostess at the Klamath Art Association. She was well known as a fine cook and especially as a baker. This led to a 13-year-long stint as a cook/housekeepr at the Sacred Heart Church rectory. She was active in the ladies Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, Aloha Chapter OES No. 5 and in Amaranth Friendship Court No. 11. She also was the chaplain of the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees. Mrs. Beene promoted the causes of veterans, animals, children and cancer victims.
She is survived by many dear friends, five nieces, four nephews and her son James Beene.
