MARY AGNES DEVOR, the daughter of JACOB PORTER DEVOR and MARY ANN HASSLER of Ashland, Ohio, was born September 1863 in Ashland, Ashland County, Ohio, and died January 22, 1918 in Bellevue, Huron County, Ohio.

She married HARRY DOWNS on June 19, 1883, in Ashland, Ohio, the son of GEORGE DOWNS and SARAH ANN HAYES of Ashland, Ohio. He was born November 20, 1854 in England, and died July 31, 1942 in Bellevue, Huron County, Ohio. Burial: Bellevue Cemetery, Bellevue, Huron County, Ohio.

Mrs. Harry Downs Passes to Great Beyond

Succumbed to Effects of Apoplectic Stroke sustained Three Weeks Ago

A widely known and popular Bellevue woman answered the death summons early Wednesday when, at the family home on North West Street death claimed Mrs. Harry Downs. The demise was caused by the effects of a stroke of apoplexy which was sustained on January 2, her condition continuing critical from that time.

The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at three o'clock from the family home on Northwest Street, Rev. H.C. Colburn, pastor of the Congregational church officiating, with interment in the Bellevue cemetery.

Mary Agnes Debor was born in Ashland, Ohio, September 17, 1863 and at the time of death was aged 54 years, four months and five days.

On June 19, 1883, she wa united in Marriage to Mr. Downs, at Ashland, and immediately following came to this city where she continued to make her home until death. Of three children who were born, two, Miss Helen and Edgar, both at home, survive. One daughter Wynona May died at the age of six years.

Other than the husband and children, three brothers also are among the surviving relatives. They are: W. T. Debor, of Ashland, Edgar of Tulsa, Okla., and Jacob P., of Miles City, Mont.

During the entire time of her residence in Bellevue Mrs. Downs was an active member of the congregational church and an enthusiastic participant in all the functions of the church, also being active in the Eastern Star and Ohio club, being among the charter members of the latter.

She possessed a quiet disposition and while an ever willing and untiring worker in church and fraternal circles, she found her chief enjoyment in the home ties and circles of close friends wherein her presence will be sadly missed and her memory long and tenderly cherished.
