Naomi along with children Ben, Sam, and Ada came to the United States through Ellis Island in roughly 1905.

In Ada's declining years she always reminded any gathering of family that she was the oldest which at the time time was true. For a woman of very short stature, she came off as a giant with her frequent reminder of her age.
