Shirley M. Colbaugh - ELIZABETHTON
Shirley Mae McKeehan Colbaugh, 73, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt of 1292 Gap Creek Road, Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord Monday December 29, 2008, in the Johnson City Medical Center.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Hubert Ray and Mary Louise Markland McKeehan.

She had worked as a Cook for several Restaurants in the Elizabethton area. She was an active member of the Gap Creek Christian Church. She loved to garden, quilt and crochet.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann McKeehan Lawson and Sheila McKeehan Street; and a brother, Charles Hubert McKeehan.

Survivors include her husband: Eugene Colbaugh; Four Daughters: Kathy Rasnick and husband, Tony, and Teresa Cable and husband, Burl, all of Elizabethton, Charlene Abbott, Knoxville, and Sharon Townson and husband, Randy, Roan Mountain; Two Sons: Lonnie Grindstaff, Elizabethton, and Danny Carrier, of the home; 9 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; and 4 Great Great Grandchildren; Four Sisters: Gladys Reep, Alexandria, Virginia, Nancy Berry and Betty McKeehan, both of Elizabethton, and Sonjia Steele, Mountain City; Three Aunts: Minnie McKeehan, Jetti McKeehan and Phoebe Ford; Several Nieces & Nephews.

A Service to Celebrate the Life of Shirley will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in the Gap Creek Christian Church with Mr. Kenneth Keher and Mr. Leon Langston, Ministers, officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park.

Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the church at 9:50 a.m. Friday, will be: Adam Storie, Derrick Storie, Scotty Rasnick, Steven Rasnick, Andy Abbott, Larry Guinn, McKenley Berry and Charlie Berry. Honorary Pallbearers will be her nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence.
