Bessie worked as a L.P.N. for many years. Bessie enjoyed caring for people. She took pride in helping out with whatever needed to be done. Bessie was devoted to her family and friend and was a generous contributor to many charitable organizations.
She loved to sew and do hand crafts, but flowers were her passion and she spent many hours in her yard each day. In her later years, she took up oil painting and golf and enjoyed both very much. Bessie's true passion was reading her Bible daily. She had a life-long love and devotion to her Savior and lived her life accordingly. Bessie was the chaplain of the American Legion for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Argus L. Ryker; parents, Jackson and Fannie Christie; brothers, Phillip Christie and Jack Christie Jr.; sisters, Mary Bruner and Carol Nottingham.Bessie is survived by one brother, J.C. Christie, of Claremore, and several nieces, nephews, their families and friends.
Services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 2 p.m. at Reed Culver Funeral Home with Thomas Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow at the Tahlequah City Cemetery.Reed-Culver Funeral Home, 117 W. Delaware, 456-2551.
