Bertie was very active in the Dripping Springs community including volunteering for the Senior Citizens Center and Meals On Wheels. Bertie was a lifetime member of the Womens VFW Auxillary and an active member of the Dripping Springs United Methodist Church since 1955. She enjoyed traveling, sewing and ranching.

Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Morgan; children, James S. Morgan, Bernice Morgan Schweers and Betty Jo Cowie; her siblings, Leslie M. "Red" Berry, Chester M. "Check" Berry, Myrtle C. Berry, Benjamin H. "Benny" Berry, Jessie G. Berry Grumbles, Claude H. Berry and Ray F. Berry; and granddaughter, Linda K. Cowie.

Survivors include her grandson, Mike Cowie and wife Sue and great-granddaughter, Jill all of Jarrell, TX; granddaughter, Dana Thompson and husband, Tony of Cheverly, MD; great-granddaughters, Erykka and Alexis Thompson and Ellen Phillips and husband Brad; son-in-law, Bill Schweers; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
