Bunyard, age 18, a farmer, born in Bradley County, Georgia enlisted with the 8th Missouri Volunteer Cavalry USA on July 30, 1862 in Springfield, Missouri as a Pvt. in Company "F". August 1862 Absent, Sick. September 1862 On Duty, Working on Fortifications. January 2, 1863 Absent, Sick at Fayetteville, Arkansas. February 15, 1863 Absent, Sick at Home in Greene County, Missouri. May 1, 1863 Participated in Battle of Chalk Bulff, Arkansas. May 26, 1863 Absent, On Detached Service/Scout Duty. September 10, 1863 Participated in Battle of Little Rock, Arkansas. September 16, 1863 Absent, In Hospital at Little Rock, Arkansas. January 1, 1864 Absent, Sick in Hospital at Little Rock, Arkansas. February 20, 1864 Absent, Sick at Home on Furlough in Greene County, Missouri. July and August 1864 Absent, Sick in Greene County, Missouri. September 1864 to December 1864 through February 1865 Absent, On Sick Furlough in Greene County, Missouri.
