Charles W. Owston, 60 Years old, Vice President of the McCord Radiator & Manufacturing Company until 1931, died early Thursday at Maplewood N.J., while visiting his brother in law, William Dunn. Mr. Owston, who was born in Maplewood [sic - actually born in Franklin, PA], had lived in Detroit 25 years. He left his home at 18244 Parkside Avenue two weeks ago and had expected to be back before the end of the month. He had rejoined the McCord Company two years ago and retired January 1, 1938. Burial will be in Maplewood. In the World War, Mr. Owston was a Major in the Ordnance. Surviving are his wife, Helen Strickland Owston, a daughter Helen and three sisters.
