EMERY BRIGHT, EARLY DAY CATTLEMAN, IS LAID TO REST TUES.

. Goshen county lost one of its real pioneer early day cattlemen and sturdy citizens in the passing away of Emery Bright last Saturday, Dec. 5, at the age of 84 years. He came to this part of the country more than sixty years ago and helped bring the early trail herds from the south over the Old Texas trail.
. Mr Bright when a young man was on two of the historical trail drives up from Texas. Later he ran a round-up wagon on the range in the Belle Fourche, S.D. territory. Later he settled west of Lingle.
. Mr. Bright passed away at 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the Wheatland hospital after an illness of six weeks. He retired from the ranch about five years ago and he and his wife moved to Torrington and resided at 2518 West B street. At his death Mr. Bright was 84 years, 7 months and 18 days of age.
. Emery Ulysses Bright was Born in Missouri on April 17, 1869, a son of John and Francis Bright. He was married on March 24, 1906 at London Flats, west of Lingle, to Stella Sandercock He was a loyal member of the United Presbyterian Chrch.
. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Torrington with Rev. George Woodard of Ft. Laramie officiating. Burial was in the Ft. Laramie Cemetery. Many of Mr. Bright's old-time friends of many years paid their final respects.
. Mr. Bright will be missed by his many friends as well as the members of his devoted family. He played and important role in the development of the country.
. He is survived by his wife; a son, Lowell Bright of Lingle, Wyo.; two daughters, Mrs. Grace Paules and Mrs. Maude McDaniel, both of Torrington; two sisters, Mrs. Alta Reed of Maywood, Calif., and Mrs. Rose Hendrickson of Portland, Ore.; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
