The eldest of 10 children born to Samuel Newell Olds (1818-99) and Mary Caroline Robinson (1826-1909) whom are buried at Riverside Cemetery in St. Joe, DeKalb, IN. George was married to Jennie Ellen Knight (1856-1907) on 5 May 1874. They had 2 children when George died of a gastric stomach ulcer in his 36th year.
