OSCAR BECKER DIES
Member of one of Kaufman's First Families
Past Owner of Kemp and Lone Oak Gins Dies After Operation
Oscar Becker, about 68 prominent Kaufman County ginner died in a Dallas hospital around noon today following an operation which he underwent Wednesday morning. His condition became very critical yesterday.
Mr. Becker was a member of one of Kaufman's first families. His grandfather, W.E. Becker came to Kaufman county from Germany, settled first south of here, and later in what is now the Becker or Lone Oak community.
His father was Eugene Becker.
The deceased was educated at Trinity University, Waxahachie. At the time of his passing he was associated in the ginning business with his brother George Becker, operating gins at Kemp and the Becker community.
His wife who died a number of years ago was Miss Eva Halbert before their marriage.
Surving are three sons, Jess O. Becker of Alamenda, Calif.; Walter Erin Becker, Krupp; James Becker, Kaufman; two daughers: Miss Eugenia Becker of Dallas and Kaufman, and Mrs. T.J. Becker of Kaufman; his brother, George Becker of Kaufman route 1; two sisters, Mrs. W.W. Dulaney, Lancaster, and Mrs. Nellie Hardin, Dallas.
Funeral arrangement had not been completed this afternoon.

Burial in Kaufman
Nephews of Ginner to be Active Pallbearers at Services
Funeral services will be conducted at 5 o'clock this afternoon in tribute to Oscar Becker, member of one of Kaufman's pioneer first families, who died around noon Friday in a Dallas hospital following an operation which he underwent Wednesday.
The Rev. A. R. Nash of Dallas, formerly of Kaufman, will officiate, assisted by C.S. Cadwailader of Dallas, and T.H. Browning of Kaufman.
Pallbearers will be his nephews: George Becker, Jr., Walter Becker, Charles Becker, Rilis Becker, all of Kaufman. Howard Becker of Brownwood, Seawell Dulaney of Waco.
Burial will be in the Kaufman Cemetery.
