In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Mary Brock; his brother, Roger J. Brock.
Richard was a retired facilities manager for McDermott Inc. He was an Army veteran serving during World War II where he was a Prisoner of War in Germany. He was a communicant of Resurrection Catholic Church in Moneta.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Frances Zehler Brock; his children, Joanne Chaffin; Richard Brock, Jr.; Michael Brock; Cynthia Evans; Pamela Hayes; Jennifer Jarrett; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
A Mass of Resurrection was said on Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at 2 p.m. with Monsignor Joseph Lehman celebrating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Following the burial a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to 12th Armored Division Museum, 1289 N. 2nd Street, Abilene, TX 79601.
