My Grandfather. He was raised in Tazewell County, VA and was for some years in business in Welch, WV and later in Bluefield, WV where on one occasion he was bitten, with a new suit ruined in the process, by an English Bulloog that had gotten loose from his owner; the offending animal turned around for another bite but was immediately halted by .38 slug squarely between the eyes. A hunter and fisherman of legendary skill, as well as a fine woodworker, he fished professionally in FL in the 1930s and spent his final years in Christiansburg.
