FROSTBURG,MARYLAND -- Margaret Grace McKenzie, Frostburg, died peacefully at home on April 13, 2004, the day of her 84th birthday.

Born April 13, 1920, in Boynton, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Heney Bowers and Agnes (Hetz) Bowers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frederick James McKenzie, in 1978; and two sons, Charles Joseph McKenzie, and Donald James McKenzie; and one brother, Frank Bowers. Mrs. McKenzie was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg, and was a devoted mother and grandmother, and good friend to all. She was a wonderful homemaker, and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are four daughters, Shirley Pfaff, Frostburg, Mary Ravenscroft and husband Ray, LaVale, Veronica Ann McKenzie, at home, and Marcella "Susie" Flubacher and husband Scott, Winter Harbor, Maine; seven sons, Lawrence McKenzie and wife Sharon, Fort Ashby, W.Va., Anthony McKenzie, Hollywood, John McKenzie and wife Mary, Frostburg, Raymond Thomas McKenzie and wife Betty, Oldtown, Leo McKenzie and wife Tina, Frostburg, Paul McKenzie and wife Carol, Frostburg, and Leonard "Marty" McKenzie and wife Pam, Midlothian; one sister, Kathryn Quinn and husband Howard, Mars, Pa.; 27 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday by the Rev. Father William Moody. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg, on Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Father William Moody as celebrant.

Interment will be in the St. Michael's Parish Cemetery, Frostburg. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends can also go to durstfuneralhome.com to send the family condolences.
