DIED IN THE FAITH
Mrs. D. S. Dubard died at the famly home at Rayne Tuesday night after a ten days illness with congestion of the lungs, aged 38 years.

The funeral services were held from the residence of Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Dubard Wednesday afternoon at four o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. Winans Drake of the Methodist church with interment in the Crowley Cemetery.

The deceased was the wife of D. S. Dubard, her maiden name being Nettie Tipton. She had many friends both in this city and in Rayne who sympathize with the family in their hour of bereavement.

DIED - at the home of C. C. Carlisle in Rayne, La., Oct 27, 1908, Mrs. Antionette Dubard, nee Lipton(sic)*.

Born in Attala, Co., Miss. Was a member of the Methodist Church, South, and had her membership in Bethel Church Attala, Co., Miss.

She died in the faith. As we saw the end was coming she was asked of her hope for eternity, if her faith was in Jesus? She answered, "can you doubt" and so she leaves us waiting in the blessed hope of the resurrection. May our "Savior keep us till we meet again."

NOTE: Nettie is not listed in the Crowley Cemetery, per an Acadia Parish researcher, Thelma Richard, who found this obit for me, Oct 2007.

Thelma stated one of the genealogical groups had surveyed the Crowley Cemetery and Nettie's name was not among the listed. I am assuming she must have an unmarked grave.

*maiden name was 'Tipton' not Lipton
