John Hubbard Bumgarner, Sr. was the child of
Absalom and Catherine Bumgarner. (Many sources show his name as John T. Bumgarner, but family info states he was John Hubbard Sr.) His first wife was Mary Watson and they had the following children:

John Hubbard Baumgarner, Sr. then married Elizabeth Hopewell (Keene) Miller (b 1834/1835 Callaway Co. MO, d abt 1897 Fannin Co. TX) on 15 Apr 1876 in Parker Co. Texas. No issue from this 2nd marriage. Elizabeth Hopewell Keene was the daughter of Dr. Henry J. and Martha Lewis (Snell) Keene of Callaway Co. MO and Fannin Co. TX.

His son John Hubbard Bumgarner, Jr. had married Elizabeth Hopewell (Keene) Miller's daughter, Mary E. "Mollie" Miller (b 1860 Cherokee Nation, Ind. Terr., d shortly after May 1883 when her son George Abb Bumgarner was still an infant). John Jr. & Mollie (Miller) Bumgarner had married on 5 May 1875 in Parker Co. TX. Mollie's father was Isaac Newton "Capt John" Miller, b 18 Jan 1816 Choctaw Co. AL, d 12 Nov 1888, Jimtown, Chickasaw Nation, Indian Terr., near what is now Leon, Love Co. OK. John Hubbard Bumgarner Jr. and Mollie Miller had several children, but only one lived past infancy: George Abb Bumgarner, b 13 May 1883, d 21 June 1957 Mineral Wells, Palo Pinto Co. TX.
