Billy was born in Hoffman, Oklahoma, to Bob Combs and Mary (Billes) Combs, on August 10, 1933. He graduated from High School in Morris, Oklahoma, and attended some college. Billy enjoyed the rodeo. He was among the top calf ropers in Oklahoma. As the saying goes, "He was top-notched." He roped many calves with his brother Carlos. Billy also enjoyed fishing, raising chickens and cats. Being with his family was very important to Billy. He was an active member of the wolf hunting association. This was really a passion to him. Anything you needed to know about this sport, Billy could tell you. He was married to Mary Horton on April 24, 1996 in Osage, Oklahoma. He was of the Baptist Faith. Billy will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Mary Combs; 1st wife Shirley in 1994; son Turner Wesley Combs; and step-son Shannon McCarty.

Funeral services for Billy will be Saturday, December 20, 2008, at 2:00 P.M. in the First Baptist Church of Prue, Oklahoma. Rev. Garry McDevitt and Rev. Bill Lay will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Prue Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service of Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
