Deceased Name: Anza Gerald Aragon

Services for Gerald Paul Aragon, 69, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller-Jones Mortuary in Hemet. He died of a heart attack Thursday at Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Riverside National Cemetery.
Mr. Aragon, who was born in Monte Vista, Colo., lived in Anza 10 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1946 until he retired as a captain in 1972. He served during the Korean and Vietnam wars.

He was a member of the Retired Officers Association and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1873 in Anza. He was a member of American Legion Post 800 in Idyllwild and a life member and past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge in Vista.

Mr. Aragon enjoyed reading and growing apples.
He is survived by his wife of nine years, Margaret; two sons, Joseph of San Diego and Larry of Hemet; three daughters, Yvonne Beckelman and Phylis Johnson, both of Redding, and Beverly Livingston of Mapleton, Ore.; three stepsons, Bill Gause and James Wardrip, both of Potter Valley, and Joseph Wardrip of San Marcos; two stepdaughters, Teresa Daniels of Virginia City, Nev., and Valerie Trimble of Ukiah; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Larry Valerio of Germany.
