Martha C. Hofer was born May 24, 1888, and at the time of her death was aged 25 years, 11 months and 16 days. On Sept. 1, 1910, she was united in marriage to Elmer C. Marner, to which union, one daughter, Vera Gladys.
In the spring of 1910 she acknowledged the saving grace of God, and affiliated herself with the M.E. church at Amish. She proved an earnest and devout Christian woman and remained steadfast in her faith to the end.
Besides her husband and little daughter, who will never know a true mother's love, the deceased leaves to mourn, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. Hofer, nine brothers and three sisters. Her's is the second death in this large family, an infant having passed away many years ago.
The funeral services were held at the M.E. church in Amish, conducted by her pastor, Rev. W. E. Berg. Interment in the cemetery near the church.
