Billy W. Childres, 58, of Paragould died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007 at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born Oct. 3, 1949, in Manila to the late John D. Childres and Lucille Hicks Childres Babb, Mr. Childres was a long time area resident, an avid fisherman, farmer, movie lover and an Army veteran who served his country in Vietnam.

Survivors include his mother, Lucille Babb of Manila; four sons, Billy Childres of St. Augustine, Fla., Chris Childres and Timothy Childres, both of Paragould, Nick Childres of Gentry, Ark.; a daughter, Summer Childres of Gentry; nine brothers; five sisters and seven grandchildren.

Mr. Childres was preceded in death by his father and a son, Jeffrey Childres.

Graveside services were at noon Saturday at Manila Cemetery under the direction of Faith Funeral Service of Manila.
