Howard R. Heft, 83, retired farmer of rural Latham died at 5 a.m. Friday in his home.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Maroa. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Maroa.
Mr. Heft was born in the house where he died in Austin Township, a son of William W. and Emma H. Rogers Heft. He was a member of the Harmony United Methodist Church. Mr. Heft was a farmer and lifelong Latham area resident.
He married Katherine White on March 23, 1916, in Bloomington, IL.
Surviving are his wife; sons, William of Latham; George of Decatur; Wray of Lincoln; daughter, Mrs. William (Esther) Brown of Ridge Farm; 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. A sister preceded him in death.
Pallbearers were Glenn Rau, John Rau, Charles Emrick, Kenneth Cunnungham, Marion Alsup and Neil Goretzke.
