Bryce had a new little half-brother, John Baylis Burkett, age 5 months.
George Bryce is mentioned in the will of his father, and inherits a piece of
property from the estate. On 5 May 1883, his life is ended at age 23 by
typhoid feverl. He never married, both parents were dead, and he died
intestate. There is a settlement of his estate, some 240 acres, among his
brothers and sisters4. He was buried in the private Burkett Cemetery
where his parents lay5
