Mr. Clyde S. "Pappy" Bell, . . . Carrollton Drive, died on Sunday evening, March 30, at Frederick Nursing Center, where be had been a guest for the past three years. His wife, Mrs. Bessie A. Umberger Bell, predeceased him in Aug. 1962.
Born at Charlesville, Sept. 12, 1882, Mr. Bell was a son of the late Nathaniel Wesley and Ellen Elizabeth Perry Bell.
Surviving are two sons, William W. Bell, Damascus, and Benjamin A. Bell, Woodsboro; five daughters, Mrs. Davis (Evelyn) Moberly and Miss Margaret I. Bell, both of Frederick, Mrs. Mary Snyder of Baltimore, Mrs. G. Glenn (Bessie) Strine and Mrs. Park (Katherine) Beachley, both of Frederick; ... grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family.
Mr. Bell was a devoted member of Calvary United Methodist Church and the Leaders Bible Class of the Sunday School. . . . and in his earlier years was an avid fisherman and hunter. He retired from the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad as a fireman.
