Herman Cannon, 73, a retired Leitchfield attorney died Saturday morning after he suffered an apparent heart attack while driving his car on U.S. 62 near Millwood. He was a native of Grayson County. Cannon was a member of the Kentucky Bar association and had been city judge and county attorney. He was a member of the Leitchfield United Methodist Church. He is survived by a daughter, Betty Downs, Louisville; two brothers, H. H. and Elbert Cannon, both of Leitchfield, and four grandchildren, Bill, Mary, Barbara and Mark Downs, all of Louisville. Funeral services, under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home, were held Monday, Jan. 24, at Ellis Chapel, Leitchfield. The Rev. Roy Clark, assisted by Father Robert Wilson, officiated.
