Alexandria Man Died Here Sunday

S. Bert Hook, 75, of Rural Route 3, Alexandria, died at the Mercy hospital at 5:20 o'clock Sunday evening. Born April 10, 1871 in Bartholomew County, the son of Ephriam and Jane Dill Hook, he was married to Dora Alice Johnson on May 25, 1893. Mr. Hook was a farmer and a member of the United Christian Church at Orestes and the Loyal Order of Moose. He had resided in this community for the past seventy-three years. Surviving include the wife, Dora, two daughters, Mrs. Gale Todd of Pontiac, and Ilene Hook of Elwood, and four sons, Floyd, Earl, and Leon Hook, all of Pontiac, Michigan, and Howard Hook of Elwood; two brothers, Edward and Adam Hook, both of Elwood; fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the York Memorial Home. Funeral services are Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the York Memorial Home. Rev. Ed Smith, pastor of the Orestes United Christian church will be in charge.
