She was born to Hilding and Ingeborg Nelson in Karlstad, Minnesota. The family moved to Klamath Falls in 1926.
She graduated from Klamath Union High School. After marrying Henry Hertager, they eventually moved to Eagle Point.
Edith married Cliff Bailey in 1986. Both he and her first husband preceded her in death.
Mrs. Hertager-Bailey loved square dancing and gardening.
She is survived by sons, John Hertager and Richard Hertager of Eagle Point; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Delmar Brood of Phoenix; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother Holger Nelson of Klamath Falls; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Jim Waits of Klamath Falls; niece and husband, Fran and Howard Johnson of Klamath Falls; and nephew, Fred Nelson of White City.
