Lois was a "determined woman" so was quite adamant about living in the country during the summers so she could have her own garden. However, her husband worked in Providence, in a dry goods store, so they compromised with her living in a big home on Commonwealth Ave in Attleboro while he lived in an apartment in Providence during the work week. He would pick her up each Sunday and they would take a drive to Conimicut, RI.
When Lois reached 90, the newspaper honored her by publishing her history. At that time the paper said that she 'enjoys the best of health, amuses herself by playing favorite melodies on the piano and spends much time reading.' She formerly attended the Pilgrim church and was a member of the Pilgrim Alliance club, a group of veteran Pilgrim church goers.
She had 1 brother: William K.
