CIVIL WAR:
Henry was a drummer boy at the age of 14 in the 16th US Ill. inf. Company "H". A family story told to me was that he ate last when there was food. One day some Southern ladies had baked pies for the men but said that there was only enough for the soldiers, and he wasn't given any.
The pies were poisened and later the men got sick and several died.
Henry was also a Baptist Minister as well as a farmer.
