Clarence Nathan Clements was born on January 12, 1890 in Una, Tennessee, the son of Moses Brassville Clements (1867–1952) and Susan Frances (Peal) Clements (1865–1956).

The family moved to Nashville when Clarence was still a child, and he spent the rest of his life there. He was married on September 15, 1915 in Davidson County to Cora Elizabeth Rash (1889–1955), the daughter of John Wyatt Rash (1859–1929) and Sarah Frances (Griggs) Rash (1857–1949).

An engineer for the Louisville & Nashville Railroad, he was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen, a member of the Eagle Club and was a member of Woodbine Methodist Church.

Living at 1910 Ridley Blvd, Clarence was 59 years old when he passed away at home on December 14, 1948.

Survivors included his widow Cora, his parents in Nashville, sisters Mrs W E Morton of Nashville and Mrs Charles Mitchell of Miami, Florida and brothers Floyd M Clements, Chester J Clements, Kelley Clements and S Dee Clements of Nashville.

Funeral Services were held at Booth Funeral Home, and burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery, Nashville.
