WILLIAM BRINDLE, farmer, P. O. North Manchester. William Brindle was born in Richland County, Ohio, March 22, 1835. His father, John Brindle was born in Pennsylvania, as was also his mother, whose maiden name was Sarah Croft. His parents came to Wabash County, Ind., at an early day, and located on the farm where William now resides, consisting of 160 acres. The father died here in 1876. The mother is still living.

William, the subject of this sketch, was married January 14, 1862, to Miss Luzena Payne, a native of Wabash County, Ind., and daugh­ter of Barnabas and Huldah ( Bond) Payne. Her father was born in North Carolina, and her mother in Wayne County, Ind. Both are now deceased.

Mr. Brindle and wife have seven children living, viz.: Stacy W., Alice M., Anna T., Asa S., Arnie L., Albert R. and . Mamie L. In politics, Mr. Brindle acts with the Democratic party. Himself and wife are members of the United Brethren Church.
