Marcel was the son of Joseph and Osine (Folsy) Dupuis, born January 24, 1883 in La Passe, Ontario province, Canada. Marcel and Marie and their children were living in Moxee in 1910. Neighbors were Marie's brother Ben's family, and Edward and Albertin Patnode. An article from an undated Daily Record (Ellensburg, Washington) newspaper entitled "Brothers Meet After 63 Years" is in the possession of Alma Menard Ross's granddaughter. Under the photograph of Marcel and his two brothers and sister reads, "Getting acquainted again at the Marcel Dupuis home west of Ellensburg, after being separated 63 years, are (left to right) Mederic Dupuis, McLellan, Alberta; Marcel Dupuis, Ellensburg; Euclide Dupuis, Thorp; and their sister, Rose Menard, Puyallup. (see story) The picture was taken on the lawn at the Marcel Dupuis home west of Ellensburg. (Daily Record photo). Marcel died at the age of 74 years on May 24, 1957.
Daughter Lida (Dupuis) Beedle recalls, "My father, Marcel Dupuis, a French-Canadian (born in Ontario, Canada, 1883 and my mother, Marie Menard (born in Minnesota) came west with their pioneering families. They met and were married in Moxee, WA in 1906, and eventually moved to Richland, WA where I was born in 1927. There were 19 of us children and I remember my mother canning 1200 quarts of vegetables and meat to feed the family. In 1935, relatives in Thorp discovered the old Evan's homestead, empty and surrounded by beautiful farm land. After leasing the farm, my parents and 13 children lived there from 1935 till 1942. At that time, the Dupuis bought the old Rue place (140 acres) in the Teanaway, which they farmed until 1951 when they moved to Ellensburg. Our parents, the Beedles and the Dupuis, lived to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversaries." [A History of Kittitas County, WA, 1989, p. 149"].

Granddaughter Donna (Dupuis) Mills recalled: "I remember when we were kids, we all got together at Marie and Marcel (Mamere and Papere) for Sunday fried chicken dinner. Every Sunday. And the Aunts and Uncles would sing the old songs and dance. We were a dancing family. Every Saturday at the local grange til late. Us little ones would be put down in the back room to sleep."
