Harold, the son of Walter and Ida (Potratz) Armbruster, was born on February 18, 1920 in the town of Freedom. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church in North Freedom. On March 8, 1947, Harold was married to Edna Radke at St. John's Lutheran Church in Baraboo. He was employed by Badger Ordnance for several years and by Libby's until his retirement due to ill health.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Armbruster, of North Freedom; three sons, Wally Armbruster of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, Tom Armbruster of North Freedom, and Randy Armbruster and fiancé Lois Patterson of Baraboo; three grandchildren, Tara (Brad) Westerwille and Heather and Chad Armbruster; three great-grandsons; one sister, Eleanor (Harry) Rehr of Excelsior; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Viola Post.
Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery in North Freedom.
