Fannie and sister Pina were the daughters of George Washington Benedict from Michigan and Ester Etta Smith from Indiana.
Aunt Fannie was a widow and also the older sister to Uncle Walson's second wife Pina. Walson and Fannie had no children although Fannie had three sons and a daughter Frances E. by her first husband, William Aquinis Cooper who died February 18, 1925 and is buried beside Fannie as is her sister Pina. Her sister Pina died December 27, 1925.

Frances Eunice Cooper, daughter to Fannie from her first marriage is living with Walson and family in 1930.She is 17 years old.Walson and Fannie married about 1927.
