Betty was the daughter of Bill and Ada (Sourk) Porter. She graduated Valedictorian from Wetmore High School in 1940. She married Garrett Wilson Bartley on February 21, 1943, in Episcopal Church in Wetmore, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her siblings, Bill Porter, Eddie Porter, and Ruby Sourk. Survivors include her children, Betty Golik and Earl Bartley, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Powhattan United Methodist Church. Butial was in Powhattan Cemetery.
