Born February 8, 1887, in Monticello, Ind., he is the last of four children of Mr. and Mrs. Zachariah Bennett. He was a well known musician in Kokomo and for many years has owned and operated the Bennett Billiard Parlors, retiring from active management last November because of ill health. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc and the Holy Name Society and member of the Elks, Eagles and the Izaak Walton League. Mr. Bennett was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was married in 1908 to Mary Ryan of Kokomo who survives with two daughters, Mrs. Lenore Janson and Mrs. Betty Grace Taffe. There are also six grandchildren, Frederic, Phillip, Gregory, Jeffrey and Angela Jansen and David Taffe, all of Kokomo.
There is also one niece and one nephew, both living in California.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Joan of Arc Church, with Father Niesen officiating. burial will be in Crown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at any time. the Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
