His father was Minus Powell born 1860, mother was Betty Jane Story, born 1863 died 1926. I am not sure when he moved to Plant City, but records show that in 1920 he and his wife Eliza Powell lived in a boarding house on Wheeler St. that was run by Lorena Miller. Mr. Powell's occupation was listed as a machinist in a garage. In 1930 he was listed as a mechanic for automobiles. I just found out that Mr Powell's son W. L. Powell Jr. is in a group living home east of the Lithia area. I plan to visit him soon and get more info.
